The Best Crews in the Business

Quartershare crews do not live on the boats  (of course except while on a trip). Crews are scheduled on duty for a block of days, then off duty for a block of days in conjunction with trip scheduling. This provides for a very satisfying, rewarding and professional work environment and lets the crew members enjoy their personal lives between trips. As our crews are the front line of the Quartershare operation, their health, attitude and well being are of prime importance. Crew quarters are well appointed so that the working environment is as comfortable as possible for each crew member. Our Crews are not "job" oriented, but rather career minded individuals. The work environment, pay scale and mission to dominate the yacht ownership industry draw the best crews in the world to the Quartershare family. Your Yacht is your home. Our crews always look forward to welcoming you on board.

Owner Service Representatives have also had years of experience in the hospitality and yachting industries. All new hires go through intense background checks and screening prior to and during employment. Quartershare International will compromise nothing to assure the safety and enjoyable experience of our owners and their guests.

Crew selection itself is a stringent process. Our Captains must have a minimum of three years make and model as a Captain in order to be considered. First officers must also possess a Captains license and have at least one year experience as such. Each Guest Attendant must be very experienced  and meet qualification standards. Experienced chefs included in each yacht crew, will provide you with the most well prepared delicious dishes throughout your stay on board.

Crew Training

Although the ownership and lifestyle on a large yacht, and especially on a Quartershare managed vessel is very enjoyable, we also take safety quite seriously.

Similar to stringent airline hiring procedures , when all new crews join Quartershare, they must go through a comprehensive training program that includes vessel systems, general operating procedures, federal regulatory material, navigation, weather and Quartershare procedural operations.  Both written and oral exams are administered prior to pracical yacht training. In this phase, the new crew member regardless of previous experience, is schooled in man overboard procedures, engine failures, system malfunction procedures, medical emergencies, port entry and departure and other specifics having to do with safety and systems operation. A practical at sea exam is then administered prior to the crew member being assigned to duty. This training is repeated on an annual basis.
